The Langkawi International Airport is one of the most important places in Langkawi Island because it is here that thousands of tourists and visitors come each day.
Situated in the southwestern part of the island and about half an hour drive away from Kuah town, the airport is located at Padang Matsirat, away from the crowded town and city.

Apart from the fact that Langkawi Island is a major tourist attraction, it is home to international events like the widely anticipated LIMA (Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition) which makes this airport all the more significant.
